Abby Frye, PharmD, BCACP
Providence Medical Group; Clinical Pharmacy Specialist
Abby earned her bachelor's in chemistry from Central College in Pella, Iowa before moving to the Pacific Northwest for pharmacy school at the University of Washington. After pharmacy school, she completed two years of residency with Providence, including a PGY-2 in primary care with the Providence Medical Group. Currently, Abby is a clinical pharmacy specialist with the Providence Medical Group. In this role, she provides collaborative management for patients with diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic conditions, serves as a drug information resource for providers, and precepts learners.

Alyssa Rabon, PharmD, BCCCP
Oregon Health & Science University; Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Pharmacist
Alyssa completed her PharmD, PGY1 and PGY2 critical care residencies at the Medical University of South Carolina. She is the advanced heart failure and transplant clinical pharmacist at OHSU. When she is not at work, she enjoys watching college football, trying new restaurants, and taking her dogs for a walk around the neighborhood.

Amber Taylor, PharmD
Rogue Community Health - Director of Pharmacy
Amber Taylor, PharmD, is the Director of Pharmacy at Rogue Community Health. With degrees from Oregon State University and Pacific University, she specializes in pharmacy operations, leadership, CMRs, Hepatitis C care, and MAT. She is committed to patient‑centered care and joined RCH to engage more deeply in community health. Outside work, she enjoys cooking, reading, hiking, kayaking, and time with family.

Amy Cervan, PharmD
Rogue Community Health Senior Director of Pharmacy
Amy Cervan, PharmD, is the Senior Director of Pharmacy at Rogue Community Health, where she leads outpatient and health‑system pharmacy operations, regulatory integrity, and 340B program compliance. She brings more than 20 years of experience across community, ambulatory, and district‑level leadership, with a focus on operational excellence, team development, and patient‑centered care. Amy earned her PharmD from the University of the Pacific and is an active member of OSPA, APhA, and the Emergency Preparedness Committee.

Claymore Kills First, PharmD
Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Oncological Sciences OHSU School of Medicine and Oncology Pharmacist in the Department of Pharmacy
Claymore Kills First, Pharm.D., is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and Mnicoujou Lakota. He is a Research Assistant Professor in the Division of Oncological Sciences and a board-certified oncology pharmacist. His research focuses on addressing cancer care disparities affecting Indigenous populations, including genomic and familial cancer risk. His work emphasizes collaboration with Tribal governments and communities, promoting equitable research that respects Tribal data sovereignty and incorporates Tribal member input and cultural resources to improve healthcare access.



Gary Runyon, Pharm.D., R.Ph.
Oregon Board of Pharmacy, Executive Director
Gary Runyon brings over 23 years of diverse pharmacy experience to his role as Executive Director of the Oregon Board of Pharmacy. Joining as a Compliance Officer in 2023, he advanced to Pharmacist Consultant before taking the helm as ED in Spring 2025. From drafting statewide protocols to advising legislators, his hands-on background drives the agency's evolution. He is also a seasoned yoga instructor who founded a business in TN integrating therapeutic yoga into behavioral healthcare. Off-duty, he enjoys backpacking with his dog Ladybug, reading and creative writing, and playing the guitar.


Jessica Potter, PharmD, BCACP
Legacy Health Ambulatory Care Pharmacist
Jessica Potter, PharmD, BCACP, is an ambulatory care pharmacist at Legacy Medical Group Westside Internal Medicine. Originally from Michigan, she moved to Oregon in 2021 to complete a PGY-2 ambulatory care residency with Legacy Health and now serves as the program coordinator. Jessica developed an interest in HIV PrEP and treatment during her PGY-1 residency through a rotation at an HIV clinic. She also has a strong interest in weight management and is a founding member of the Pacific Obesity Alliance.


Katie Bowden, PharmD
Palliative Care Clinical Pharmacist, Roseburg VA Health Care System (at Eugene VA Clinic)
Katie Bowden was born and raised in North Carolina, attended the University of North Carolina for undergraduate and pharmacy school before moving to Oregon for residency. She completed her PGY1 residency at the Roseburg VA and ambulatory care PGY2 at the Eugene VA. She now works as an outpatient palliative care clinical pharmacist at the Eugene VA. In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time outside, rock climbing, and cooking.


Maddie Fry, PharmD BCACP
Associate Professor, Assistant Dean for Experiential Education
Maddie Fry, PharmD, is an Associate Professor and Assistant Dean for Experiential Education at Pacific University School of Pharmacy. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Pacific University in 2014, followed by a PGY-1 General Practice Residency at the Roseburg VA Medical Center in Roseburg, Oregon, and a PGY-2 Residency in Ambulatory Care at CareOregon in Portland, Oregon.Since January 2020 she has been administering the experiential program at Pacific while continuing teaching in the areas of leadership and experiential education.


 

Marketa Marvanova, PharmD, PhD, BCGP, BCPP, FASCP
Pacific University School of Pharmacy, Dean and Professor
Dr. Marketa Marvanova is Professor and Dean of the Pacific University School of Pharmacy in Hillsboro, Oregon. She is a Board-Certified Psychiatric and Geriatric Pharmacist and a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP). She holds an M.S. (Pharm), Pharm.D., and Ph.D. from Charles University in the Czech Republic and a Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology from the University of Eastern Finland. Her clinical and scholarly work focuses on geriatrics and neuropsychiatry, with a commitment to improving health outcomes for older adults.


 

Nicola Carter, PhD
Pacific University School of Pharmacy, Chair and Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Dr. Nicola Carter is an Associate Professor and the current Chair of Pharmaceutical Science at Pacific University School of Pharmacy. She is a teacher within the Doctor of Pharmacy and Master in Pharmaceutical Science programs, and maintains an active student-focused research program. She received her PhD in Biochemistry from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and prior to joining the faculty at Pacific University, was an NIH funded researcher within the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Oregon Health & Science University for several years.


 

Ryan Gibbard, PharmD, BCPS
Pacific University School of Pharmacy, Associate Professor
Ryan Gibbard is an associate professor and Unit Chair for Pharmacy Practice at Pacific University School of Pharmacy. He has worked as a clinical pharmacist in acute care health-system settings and currently practices as a clinical pharmacist at Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center while supporting the training of residents and pharmacy students. Ryan is a past president of OSHP and served as an Oregon delegate to ASHP. He was recognized for “Excellence in Education” by OSHP and as “Teacher of the Year” by Pacific University School of Pharmacy in 2018. None of this will be on the test.


 

Sigrid C. Roberts, PhD
Pacific University Oregon, Professor
Sigrid C. Roberts, PhD, is a Professor at the Pacific University School of Pharmacy. She earned her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Iowa, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Konstanz and OHSU. At Pacific University, Dr. Roberts teaches foundational sciences – including gene expression, signaling, and oncology – and serves as the coordinator for the Pharmacogenomics elective. Her research focuses on advancing polyamine metabolism in Leishmania to develop novel therapeutic strategies for neglected tropical diseases.
